Helping parentless and homeless children in need.

In the United States, in our cities, in our communities, in our neighborhoods, right under our nose’s we have parentless, homeless and disadvantaged children that need our help.  Safety Harbor Kids is a nonprofit dedicated to providing to children, the tools for success, guidance for the future, education for a lifetime, and happiness and hope for today.  Through local community events and activities, we create an environment for children to learn, grow and be mentored by philanthropic minded community members.  Essentially, we build a support system for children in need through philanthropy, community spirit, education and family values.

A parentless child lacks the foundation of a family support system or a plan for the future.  In each of our lives, we all experience those times when something happens to us and we need to rely on the help and support of our families.  A parentless child has little or no support system.  No one is guiding and helping them with the difficult decisions they have to make in their lives.  What about college?  What about a job?

A child without a family support system is at an incredible disadvantage on the road to success.  In fact, 80% of children who have grown up in foster homes end up homeless and 60% of the children from foster homes end up in jail.  An estimated 236,000 people are homeless in Los Angeles County alone, making for approximately 100,000 or more children living in the bushes or in the alleys behind your homes.  In fact, one out of every three children in Los Angeles County lives in a family at or below the poverty line.  Every night, a needy child goes to sleep hungry, lonely and without the basic foundation of a family support system. It’s a vicious circle and we are here to break it.

Safety Harbor Kids Mission is to build a career, arts and education center for parentless and homeless children where they can learn the tools and receive the guidance to help them succeed.

Our Vision
is to create centers of influence for parentless and homeless children and build a foundation of philanthropy to change the consciousness of future generations.

Our Purpose
is to provide to children the education, guidance, knowledge, love and support to help them realize their individual potentials.

Our Plan
is to facilitate philanthropy through community events, activities and programs that pair caring community members with children in need.
Our Programs and Events create an atmosphere of fun and philanthropy where children and adults can teach, learn and practice the power of giving.  We help youngsters learn kindness toward others, respect for environment and how to feel good by doing good.  Through arts, education, wilderness, leadership and health and happiness activities, we provide children with the tools to help them realize their full potential.  In a supportive and friendly environment, we share the child’s pain and give them hope by showing them a future.

Make a difference today, change a child’s tomorrow!
