Safety Harbor Kids mission is to enrich the lives of parentless and homeless children through education in the areas of college, career, music and the arts. The children we serve live in group homes and shelters within Los, Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. Since 2007 we have served thousands of orphans, foster and homeless children from over fifteen different foster care homes in the US and worldwide including Vista Del Mar, Kids 2 Kids, Esperanza House, Hathaway Sycamores, School on Wheels, LA Family Housing, The Midnight Mission, Women’s Care Cottage, Rain Project, Milestones, Guiding Our Youth and others.
The homeless children have next to nothing and get to spend a few days a week in a shelter and then it’s out on the streets living in a park or in an alley somewhere. The orphans and foster youth either have no family or their parents are unfit or institutionalized. The children have no role models, little or no family contact, minimal education and not much hope for the future. It’s a sad situation and Safety Harbor Kids has set up a safety net to catch these children before they end up on the streets.
