Since
our first event in September 2007, more than 2,000 at risk children have been
introduced to College, Career and the Arts activities meant to enrich their
lives. With the help of qualified
volunteers, SHK has put musical instruments in children hands for the first
time. We have given scores of
children music and art lessons, taught children personal motivation and career
possibilities and encouraged them to pursue their dreams. Children have gone to camp for the
first time, had their first Holiday party, have learned to build things with
their hands, learned to swim, catch their first fish and conquer their personal
fears each year though Safety Harbor Kids Personal Enrichment Programs. Provided through our Special Events
held around the Holidays, our Special Programs include:
Safety Harbor Kids
Special Programs are designed to introduce, inspire and support disadvantaged
youth to the activities and experiences they have been denied in life. Life has chosen to squelch the light in
these childrens eyes with hardship and suffering. Safety Harbor Kids aims to rekindle that light in the eyes
of as many children as possible with love and kindness and by helping them
achieve their dreams. Our programs
are meant to enrich their lives and provide a lasting support system for
them.

culinary skills and photography. Job references for the future are available

for nature and the environment around us.
Safety Harbor
Kids Personal Growth Program
We teach the children they are good people and
they should love themselves. We
teach respect for themselves and others, honesty and integrity and morals and
how to maintain these standards.
Sponsor a Child Program
Caring community members have the immensely rewarding opportunity to sponsor one or more of our gracious children. Sponsorship can be financial ($350 per year) or financial and personal. You can sponsor a child for a year to come to all of our Special Events, you can sponsor a child for just one event or you can sponsor a child for any of the above programs.
Safety Harbor Kids 1000 Day Mentor Program
After passing a background check, caring community members can elect to mentor a special child. These children are in dire need of quality time. Most have no family and no visitors – ever. It is really sad when just the presence of another human being can create such joy and, yet, there is no one. Just a little quality time, some talk and a smile would brighten their world and give them hope. Please consider mentoring one of our gracious, polite and well mannered children. After a light background check and application you can brighten a child's life!
